We all love winters but our skin surely does not as it has to deal with a lot of problems during the season.
We talked about winter hair care in our previous post. Now
it’s time for your SKIN to glow. Winters can be really hard on your skin. They
tend to make your skin dry which is NOT GOOD AT ALL. So if you want to know
about how you can take care of your skin and manage to glow in winters read
along….
Water temperature : First things first, I know in winters we don’t want to even touch cold water but the sad part is hot water can make your skin even dryer. Start off by washing your face with lukewarm water but still rinse your face with cold water after you wash it. This way, your skin does not get dry and the cold water helps to close your pores.
The correct face wash : Use a mild face wash in winters and avoid foaming face wash. As per my experience, foaming face wash takes out all the oils from your face making it dryer. We NEED some good oils on our face especially in winters. So go for a face wash which is not very thick in consistency.
Toning your face : Toning is really important for your skin. It helps your skin to get rid of all those extra dirt and grime. While the store-bought toners might contain alcohol in them (which is not good for winters) you can still use rosewater as a natural toner.
Moisturizing : Now comes the most important part- MOISTURIZING. As important as it gets, moisturizing your face is the crucial part of your skin care. One mistake that I had done in my life with skin care was underestimating the importance of moisturizer. I’ve always had dry skin and during my teens I would neglect any moisturizing creams. Later on, I had to compensate.

No matter what type of your skin is- oily,
dry, normal, you still need to use moisturizer according to your skin type.
Hydrate from within : In winters, we tend to lose hydration from our skin, hair, lips and overall body. So we need to compensate the loss by consuming adequate liquid. It is really important to keep yourself hydrated from within.

Face mask :
Yogurt- It is really good for your skin as it has lactic acid in it…. It helps to make your skin smooth and supple.
Honey- Honey is another lighting agent
which works wonders for your skin. It helps to moisturize your skin making it softer.
Neem – Neem is very good for both your skin and hair. As it has anti-bacterial properties, it helps your skin to get rid of any bacteria or skin problems. Mix neem powder with rosewater and make a paste. Apply it all over your face and wash it after 10-15 minutes.

Along with your face, your other body parts also get dry. In that case do not forget to keep applying body lotion and lip balm every now and then(whenever it gets dry). So with these tips, take a bit of extra care of yourself in this winter. Have fun! :)
