"Karma, simply put, is an action for an action, good or bad."
-Stephen Richards
Karma in a simple sense happens to be our own deeds. If we
do good, we get good and if we do bad, we get bad. It’s that simple. With time
I have become a firm believer of karma. Here I share with you a small incident
that happened to me where karma shows its wonderful stroke. Here is a solid
reason why I believe in karma and you should too.
When I was in high school I met a girl who was a bit
different from any other girls I was friend with. May be because we shared same
sort of aspirations. I was close to her. She also had a close friend who was a little bit rude and arrogant. From the very beginning I had observed that the
girl I chose to be friend with was self-centered. She always thought about
herself before anyone else. But still I used to love her a lot despite her being
mean (at times) to me. High school was over and so was their friendship. I was
close to other friends as well and we helped her when she felt bad. She came to
our group as well. And after that one day, she called me and said I was the
culprit because of whom their friendship had ended. I was devastated because
all these while I had been with her when her so-called "best friend" stopped
talking to her for no reason and I get this. I cried a lot and decided to not
talk to her anymore. We even had a fight.
Time passed. And then one day out of nowhere she called me. I picked up
the phone. It had almost been a year. She said “I am sorry”. And the best thing
was she was not just saying but was actually guilty. You cannot imagine how
much I was hurt when she had those allegations on me. But finally she apologized
and I accepted but we still do not talk and are no longer friends.
FORGIVING someone does not necessarily mean FORGETTING what
they did. This is what we call KARMA.
